Raw Material Used :

• Black pottery from manipur made by Brown Clay from the river bed.
• Volcanic black rock is called serpentine rock.

Making Process :

1. Manual collection of Raw materials.
2. Grinding black rock into power.
3. Making Paste proportionately.
4. Manually shaping by hand.
5. Polishing and sun-dried for two days subject to good weather.
6. Smoking process.
7. Heating or Baking process in a bonfire.

Note: Total number of days taken to produce black earthenware or Black pottery is six days subject to favourable weather conditions.
